
Visayan solons issue manifesto of support for Speaker Romualdez
LAWMAKERS belonging to the Visayan bloc in the House of Representatives have issued a manifesto to reiterate their unwavering support for the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez following political noise created by House decision to reprioritize the use of confidential funds.
“We, the Visayan bloc members, would like to express our unwavering and resolute support for the esteemed Speaker from the Visayas, Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez,” the manifesto reads.
They noted that under the leadership of Romualdez, who represents the 1st District of Leyte, the House of Representatives has passed significant measures towards promoting social justice, economic development and environmental sustainability.
“We reaffirm our belief that the Speaker has led the House of the People with the principles of unity, integrity, transparency and strict adherence to the Iaw–including adherence to COA audits,” the Visayan bloc lawmakers said in the manifesto.
“We will continue to work with him to deliver on the President’s priority legislative agenda and uplift the lives of Filipinos,” the manifesto added.
