Governor Ryan Singson, League of Municipalities (LMP) President Chavit Singson and thousands of residents of Ilocos Sur welcomed Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Sara Duterte, and their contingent during their visit to the province last February 17, 2022.

The Uniteam caravan took off at Sinait going to Vigan City. This led to a grand rally at the Quirino Stadium where the contingent was warmly welcomed with cheers of support by thousands of attendees.

Members of the Uniteam had a short meeting with LGU officials at the newly-inaugurated Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center after which the caravan proceeded to Narvacan Farmers Market to meet their supporters.

Gov. Ryan expressed his full support to the Uniteam electoral slate and added that LMP President Chavit firmly backs Gov. Ryan’s political decisions. According to Gov. Ryan, the Solid North will be there to support the son of Apo Lakay and his running mate, with an estimated 90 percent of the region’s votes locked for the tandem’s party.

During the visit to the province, Marcos Jr. reiterated his call for unity in the country and expressed his gratitude to Sara Duterte for agreeing to be his running mate in the national elections. “I feel that I am the luckiest presidential candidate because my partner running for vice presidents is Mayor Sara Duterte, one of the best and greatest, and most importantly, someone with conviction in her dreams and desires for our beloved Philippines. We both agreed on what course of action is needed to be done for Filipinos to rise up from the crises that we are undergoing – both the pandemic and economic crisis. We might not see eye to eye on other things, but I fervently hope that we can all agree that we can surpass this. That we can face the world and proudly say that we are Filipinos, with heads held high,” he said.
