TVJ ready to face legal battle
WHAT’S in a name? A lot, especially if you have been a part of it for decades. And of course, we’re referring to ‘Eat Bulaga.’ It has been the noontime show of Tito, Vic and Joey which they are not part of anymore. Now, they are struggling to keep the name with a new but still nameless show which airs on July 1 on TV 5.
Joey laments: ‘We have a new home but no title. We have already filed for a copyright claim with the Intellectual Property Office and prepared to face a legal battle to get EB back as the name of our show.”
Piolo could have been the most handsome priest
IN his younger years Piolo Pascual dreamed of being a priest or pastor. It is now a screen reality but with a big difference. For the first time, he plays a Catholic priest who became a serial killer in ‘Mallari..’
Ironically, Piolo really wanted to be a priest. A priest friend told him the need to go back to college to study priesthood. While he couldn’t do it anymore, he just thought of being a pastor but also failed to meet the requirements. Had he become one, Papa P woud be the handsomest servant of God.
Meanwhile, ‘Mallari’ is directed by Derick Cabrido for Mentorque Productions it might be one of the film entries for the coming Metro Manila Film Fest 2023 this December.
A movie about basketball, sex and illegal activities
SOMEONE got intrigued with Vivamax film offering titled “Hugot.” And naughtily adds “kapag ipinasok, may hinugot.” True enough ‘Hugot’ has plenty of pumping (hugot) scenes.

The story goes: A rising basketball star puts his dreams on hold and looks for other lucrative options to provide for his family.
Cocoy (Benz Sangalang) is a charming young man in his early 20s. Like many others his age, he lives an active lifestyle and plays basketball. He is well-known in his town for being an ace player in this game, and everyone knows his potential and that he can make a better future out of it.
But life’s circumstances and financial struggles hinder Cocoy from pursuing his dream. He then takes a different path where he could earn more money in a faster and easier way. He traded basketball and hoops with drugs and gambling, the life of crime is now his new ball game, and the world of illegal dealings is now his playing court.
Can Cocoy still get back on track and take the right way to success, or will he forever be tied to his new life?
‘Hugot’ is directed by Daniel Palacio, starring Azi Acosta and Benz Sangalang. 90s matinee idols Mark Anthony Fernandez and Joko Diaz are also a part of the film and portray vital roles as major influences in Cocoy’s life. Also starring Stephanie Raz, Jiad Arroyo, Apple Castro, Julio Diaz, Mickey Ferriols and Isadora.
