
Transforming Pasig into a smart city to make citizen’s lives better — Discaya
LEADING candidate for Pasig mayor Sara Discaya vowed to transform Pasig City into a Smart City, putting into the realization of becoming a smart, green and sustainable city with the ultimate goal of improving the urban quality of life of every Pasiguenos.
Discaya envisions to turn the city into a modern urban city but a “smart city” that can reach out to every community, particularly the unfortunate families living in Pasig.
Among her priority projects once become the city’s top executive is to provide seamless broadband and Wi-Fi coverage.
“In a smart city, there are no dead zones and no dropped calls. Free charging stations are conveniently placed; no one worries about their phone battery dying,” said.
A successful businesswoman, Discaya will bring health care resources directly into low-income areas which were already neglected by the current administration.
She also plans to construct a new hospital to cater to the poor, return the “yellow health card” schemes for easy access to medical needs and medicines and to priorities education which the national government cannot provide in education.
“Modern school buildings, free textbooks, workbooks, t-shirts and school materials will be provided to students to enjoy full the benefits derived from local taxes paid,” she said.
“I want the people of Pasig to benefit from projects to be implemented under my administration through infrastructures, free health services, security/peace and order and enjoy a good quality of life in the city,” Discaya said.
Discaya said that a city is considered ‘smart’ when it utilizes technology to enhance security measures and disaster preparedness.
She will also prioritize digitalization initiatives to make transactions more convenient and access to government services in compliance with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.
Pasig, with a growing population of 1.2 million, making the city a “smart city” through the use of modern technology and make its citizens’ lives better.
“We must be efficient in delivering government services to the people, especially to those who need them most,” Discaya stressed.
“The coming May 12 midterm elections is not just for popularity, pa-pogi, empty promises, and showbiz image, but it is about for the welfare of the community, the neglected families and the entire citizens of Pasig,” Discaya said.
