Tingog, Speaker’s Office launch 1st Alagang Tingog Center in Ubay, Bohol

UBAY, BOHOL – Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to accessible government services, Tingog Party-list proudly unveiled its first Alagang Tingog Center (ATC) in Ubay, the Dairy Capital of Bohol, on August 11, 2023.

This momentous occasion stands as a testament to the strong collaboration between the Offices of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Jude A. Acidre, as well as the Office of Presidential Assistance in Visayas.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by the presence of Reps. Romualdez and Acidre, Bohol 2nd District Repr. Maria Vanessa Aumentado, OPAV Undersecretary Terence C. Calatrava, Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado, Municipal Mayor Constantino Reyes, alongside other local government officials, serves as a symbol of the harmonious synergy between local and legislative bodies.

Mayor Constantino Reyes seized the opportunity to extend his appreciation for Tingog’s initiative to erect a center in the community to address the needs of the constituents of Ubay as well as for Tingog’s collaboration in coordinating disbursements with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which has greatly benefited 1,000 recipients, including senior citizens and PWDs, who have each received 5,000 PHP. This initiative will not only affect the lives of the people but also the next generation.

During the event, Cong. Maria Vanessa “Van-Van” Aumentado expressed her gratitude to House Speaker Martin Romualdez for extending various aid through infrastructure projects and social services program to the 2nd District of Bohol. Rep. Aumentando also acknowledged Tingog Representative Hon. Yedda Marie Romualdez as “one of the most empowered women she looks up to.” She emphasized that the establishment of ATC in Ubay does not only “serve” the municipality, but the whole 2nd District is lucky for having the presence of Tingog Partylist in the area.

Governor Aris Aumentado also graced the event his presence to display his full support to Tingog Partylist. “Daghang salamat sa supporta and padayon sa supportahan sa atong mga dughan and tabangan nato sa future” (trans: “Thank you for your support (Tingog) and let’s continue to support and help them in the future”) the governor said.

Rep. Acidre, on the other hand, commended the creation of ATC in the municipality. “Finally madunggan nagyud ang Tingog sa Ubay” (Trans: Finally, Tingog will be heard now in Ubay) the Congressman said. Ultimately, Rep. Acidre stated that “Tingog” will not be heard without “Speaker,” indicating the importance of the Office of the House Speaker in the realization of their advocacies for the country.

Rep. Romualdez, in her speech, thanked the people for granting Tingog the opportunity of serving Ubay, and the 2nd District of Bohol. She also emphasized that Tingog has achieved to be the number 1 partylist in terms of delivering social services and because of being a “working partylist” that is not only present in election times. By enumerating the benefits that the ATC has to offer, the cash assistance, and the raffle prizes, Rep. Romualdez emphasized Tingog’s aspiration not to be forgotten by the people of Ubay. “Ubay-ubay diris Ubay ang makadawat gikan sa Tingog Partylist” (trans: Ubay will receive a lot from Tingog Partylist) the Congresswoman ended.

The event was not just about financial aid; raffle prizes such as grocery packages, appliances, bikes, and a grand prize motorcycle were also distributed. Comedian-artist Wacky Kiray provided entertainment, and local dancers, drum and bugle corps added to the festive atmosphere.

Highlighting the ATC as a comprehensive hub offering vital government services to marginalized citizens, Rep. Romualdez emphasized that Tingog will always be present to provide for the needs of the people of 2nd district of Bohol and their posterity without any conditions, but only genuine public service.
