Teener threatens victim via CP, jailed for cybercrime

A TEENAGER accused of involvement in a cybercrime offense was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) in an entrapment operation in Daet, Camarines Norte on Sunday afternoon, PNP-ACG director, Brigadier General Robert T. Rodriguez said.

The 17-year-old resident of Barangay Magang in Daet was placed under arrest during a sting in nearby Bgy. 3 triggered by a complaint from a fellow teenager, said the official.

Rodriguez said that recovered from the possession of the accused was a mobile phone which he reportedly used in threatening the complainant several times.

The teenager who was placed under the custody of the Daet Municipal Social Welfare and Development will be facing charges for grave threat under the Revised Penal Code in relation to Republic Act 10175 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, said the PNP-ACG director.
