
T2000, Dekada 90 take charge in ERJHS cagefest
MULTI-titled T2000 and Dekada Nobenta pulled off similar impressive victories in the 2025 ERJHS Alumni Sports Club Summer League at the Barangay N.S. Amoranto covered court in Quezon City.
T2000 defeated Batch 2000, 91-81, in Group A while Dekada Nobenta toppled Batch 90s, 59-45, in Group B for their second straight wins in this eight-team tournament organized by the ERJHS Alumni Sports Club to promote friendship and camaraderie among the alumni.
Matt Caguisa, Michael Favis, Joseph Bognot and Kelvin Pantaleon scored almost at will to power Team 2000 of playing coach Jerome Nell and manager Nonito Dio to their second straight win.
Caguisa scored 22 points, Favis added 20 points and Bognot, who was named “Best Player of the Game”, contributed 19 points off the bench.
Pantaleon added 10 points for T2000, which debuted with 97-74 win over Batch 2003.
Jefferson Arceo carried the fight for Batch 2000 with a team-high 38 points.
Dekada Nobenta relied on Joey Cura (17 points), Sherwin Chua (11) and Rayzie Dela Rosa (10) to silence Batch 90
Cura was later named “Best Player of the Game” for Dekada Nobenta, which defeated Batch 89, 57-52, in their opening game.
Edgar Rebueno and Mike Dumigpe finished with 22 and 13 points, respectively, for Batch 90s, which suffered its second straight loss.
In the other games, Batch 2003 overpowered Roberto Castor Rover Scout, 84-72, in Group A and Batch 89 humbled Team 80s, 72-70, in Group B.
Best Player of the Game Eduard Cabaccang fired a tournament- high 41 points to power.Batch 20003 to victory for its first win in two matches.
Carmelo and Nash Monterey scored 17 points for debuting RCRS.
Batch 89 relied on Nelson Villareal, Alvin Tanare, Jimmy De Castro and Jonn Cano to beat Team 80s for its first win in two outings.
Villareal, named Best Player of the Game, topscored with 17 points, followed by Tanare and De Castro with 14 points apiece and Cano with 12 points.
Joseph Realista and Voltaire Penaga paced T2000 with 17 points each.
Commissioner is Richard Nell while Joel Macatuno, Michael Del Rosario and Vic De Guzman lead the technical committee.
The month-long tournament is supported by Batch 85 Sports Club, Wang’s Ballclub, Kelme Basketball, Jesse Care Pest Management Service, Ping-Ping Lechon, Brgy Paang Bundok headed by William Chua and Kagawad Michael De Castor and Mara Linsangan and Brgy NS Amoranto chairman by Ato De Guzman.
Also supporting the tournament are Cong. Arjo Atayde and Gab Atayde, Councilor TJ Calalay and Laloma Fire Sub Station headed by Inspector Rommel Perez and SFO3 Brando Lim for the medical and safety assistance. AA
