SUV crashes into store, ma, baby killed
A 39-YEAR-OLD woman and her six-month-old baby on Saturday died while two others were injured when a sports utility vehicle crashed into a store in Tabuk City, Kalinga.
The names of the victims were being verified.
A report from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office said the mother, who was then carrying her baby, with their two other relatives were seated in front of the store in Bgy. Bulo, Tabuk when the incident happened.
The SUV was about to overtake another vehicle when the latter suddenly made a u-turn.
“Nabigla raw yun driver at sa halip na preno ay accelerator and naapakan kaya dumiretso sa tindahan,” a prober said.
The victims were rushed to the hospital, where the mother was declared dead on arrival. Her baby died while being treated.
The survivors, aged 15 and 28, are now recuperating at the hospital.
Charges for reckless imprudence resultimg in homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property were filed against the driver of the SUV.
