Sta. Rosa City gives 4 ballistic shields to Boracay SWAT

BORACAY ISLAND, Malay, Aklan – The police force here, led by Col. Don Dicksie de Dios, thanked the city government of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, thru Mayor Arlene Arcillas on Friday after receiving four ballistic shields for the Boracay PNP (Philippine National Police) in Malay town, Aklan.

Arcillas personally handed over the ballistic shields to De Dios, chief of Malay PNP, Lt. Kevin Amorio, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team leader, and with the presence of Malay Municipal Mayor Frolibar Bautista at Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

The 3A ballistic shields were worth P200,000 and purchased by Sta. Rosa local government.

“These equipment are extremely necessary and indispensable in providing the police operatives the essential protection by resisting ballistics and fragmentations threats from short and long firearms (rifles),” De Dios pointed out.

Known for his good public relations, De Dios said these ballistic shields would further enhance their operational capabilities.

“We are grateful for the generosity of the local government of Sta. Rosa Laguna; their support will greatly contribute to Malay PNP’s peace and order endeavors, particularly ensuring the peace and order in the island of Boracay,” De Dios said.
