Tess LardizabalDREAM hard. Work harder. Achieve the hardest.

Then change the world for the best. With faith, nothing is impossible.

This is the success formula of ivy league educational institution, St. Bernadette College of Alabang (SBCA). From an obscure class with 91 students, it has grown to become one of the most prestigious schools in the southern part of Metro Manila. It now boasts of a college with eight course offerings and six TESDA programs, endless accolades, sterling accomplishments, awards and outstanding alumni in the government and private sector.

As a highlight of its milestone 40th Foundation Anniversary, SBCA honored exemplary souls who have helped carry out its divine mission to change the world, bridge the gap between the rich and poor and ease everyone’s pains.

The fitting tributes were given during SBCA’S Gabi ng Pangulo and Gabi ng Parangal held on Feb. 11, 2023 at the Vivere Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The event recognized Gawad Gertrudes Vivo Carlos Natatanging Bernadetian awardees, Outstanding Alumni, current and previous faculty and staff, the Basic Education Parent Council Past President and Employee Service Awardees.

The guests were warmly welcomed by SBCA president Felicitas C. Rabonza, Ed. D

Given the Gawad Gertrudes Vivo Carlos Awards were Congressman Jaime R. Fresnedi, Mayor Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon, Dr. Herminia C. Mangussad, Ed.D, Dr. Josefina A. Beltran,Rev. Msgr. Tomas T. Gonzales and Dr. Carlos L. Manalang.

The citation is named after the dauntless dreamer who made SBCA a reality — Doña Gertrudes Vivo Carlos, matriarch of the Vivo and Carlos clan of Alabang, Muntinlupa.

The Outstanding Alumni recipients were Lea L. Soledad – Endaya (HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1994) and Dr. Glenn Eric B. Basilan (ELEMENTARY CLASS OF 2001).

Dr. Fely Rabonza graduated with a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the Pontifical University of Sto. Tomas, has a Master’s degree in Education degree and a doctorate degree in Educational Management. She is the blood, sweat and tears behind SBCA’s inspirational rise from a pebble of ideas into an educational rock that it is today.

The event was capped with Ma. Flordeliza R. De Guzman, MA.Ed., Vice President for Academic Affairs, thanking everybody for making the SBCA dream everybody’s reality.

Amid its stellar success, SBCA continues to mold minds, make lives better and create a more compassionate and intelligent world.
