Speaker Romualdez, leader of the House with more than 300 members, has emphasized the importance of immediate response while ensuring that the provision of necessary assistance to the residents of Davao Region affected by the calamity will not be interrupted.

“Every moment counts, and we are working tirelessly to ensure that financial aid and essential supplies reach those in need without delay,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“We understand the gravity of the situation, and our combined efforts aim to alleviate the immediate challenges faced by our fellow Filipinos,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tingog Partylist Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre assured that the Marcos administration is doing its best to address the needs of the victims.

“Tingog Partylist is committed to working alongside Speaker Romualdez’s office to ensure that our assistance reaches those who need it most,” Acidre added.

According to the House Speaker, his office is already coordinating to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the immediate release of P5 million aid to each district in Davao Region, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.

The said financial aids are for the districts represented by Reps. Maria Carmen Zamora (Davao de Oro, 1st District), Alan “Aldu” Dujali (Davao del Norte, 2nd District), Cheeno Miguel Almario (Davao Oriental, 2nd District), Nelson Dayanghirang (Davao Oriental, 1st District), and Ruwel Peter Gonzaga (Davao de Oro, 2nd District).

Also to be given assistance are the first district of Davao del Norte and the lone district of Davao Occidental through the office of Vice Governors De Carlo “Oyo” Uy and Lorna Bandigan.

It was learned that each district will also be given 2,500 food packs that costs P350 each.

Financial aid will be of great help to address various aspects of relief efforts including the repair of small structures, medical assistance and aid to displaced families.

Food packs are being prepared that are sure to meet the nutritional needs of individuals and families.
