Solon denies pic with Mayor Oca
CALOOCAN City 1st District Congressman Dale “Along” Malapitan denied on Thursday that the photo of him and Mayor Oca Malapitan, circulating on social media congratulating Ms. Hidilyn Diaz, came from his office.
“ I categorically deny that the posters/social media posts congratulating Ms. Hidilyn Diaz wherein photos of Mayor Oca and I were maliciously placed side by side came from my office nor produced by my team,” Cong. Along said in his statement.
“While I am very proud of Ms. Diaz, her win is hers and hers alone. This act of politicking is not new in Caloocan, though disappointing; I am not surprised,” he added.
He, however, emphasized his true efforts in recognizing Hidilyn Diaz, who gave the country its first-ever Olympic gold medal, by passing House Resolution No. 1994.
“It’s my simple way of acknowledgment and gratitude to her and our athletes,” the lawmaker said.
