THE COVID-19 pandemic ushered in a new era of outdoor dining concepts to make the dining out experience convenient, safe, and fun for customers.

With this in mind, SM Malls in Marilao, Baliwag, and Pulilan introduce the “Mallscapes Designated Dining Area” – an alfresco and unique attraction that offers a safe space for open-air dining while practicing health protocols.

“Our Mallscapes Designated Dining Area is focused on the wellbeing of our mall patrons to make them feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed while abiding to the dining regulations set by the IATF,” shares SM City Marilao Mall Manager Emmanuel Gatmaitan.

Located at the main entrance, SM City Marilao transformed its veranda and sidewalk into a delightfully lush pocket garden. The mall’s alfresco curates a cozy vibe dining area with an impeccably designed modern space decked in green plants, warm lights, and wood accents. Perfect for solo dining and intimate celebrations, SM City Marilao’s new alfresco has set up dining chairs and tables and an adjoining outdoor patio area where customers can safely enjoy their ordered meals and create memories while observing physical distancing.

SM City Baliwag and SM Center Pulilan took the greening to a different level by setting up designated dining areas outside the mall. A bright spot amid pandemic, each of the mall’s alfresco is built with minimalist house frames surrounded by lush green plants making it a unique site to visit. Shoppers here can safely enjoy food and local sceneries.

More to its visual aesthetics, SM’s Mallscapes Designated Dining Areas offer convenience and contactless transactions as customers can easily find menu guides of open restaurants inside the mall through the QR codes that are visible on every dining table.

“We continuously find ways to innovate and let our shoppers have a safe, convenient, and enjoyable shopping experience,” says SM City Baliwag Mall Manager Rodora Tolentino. She also added that these dining spaces are sanitized every 30 minutes while health and safety protocols are strictly implemented.
