A 33-YEAR-OLD female siomai vendor was wounded in the face after being shot by her ‘jealous’ former while the victim was inside the store on Monday evening in Rizal St. Barangay Calo, Bay, Laguna.

Bay police station said the victim was a resident of Bgy. San Antonio, Los Baños, Laguna.

She was confined at Global Care Medical Center for medical treatment after sustaining a wound from an improvised gun or “sumpak” used by the suspect.

Investigators said the arrested suspect was from Bgy. Silangan Los Baños.

Investigation revealed the shooting incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. (Nov. 7) while the victim was inside the siomai store where she was working.

Responding authorities immediately arrested the suspect and recovered the “sumpak” loaded with one 9mm ammunition, one piece-deformed slug, and a fired cartridge case of still unknown caliber from the crime scene.

The suspect was subsequently brought to Bay police station for proper disposition.

Police are looking at the “jealousy” angle since the victim was a former live-in partner of the suspect.
