Saudi investors have a lot of confidence in PH – Speaker Romualdez
ASIDE from Saudi Arabia’s $4.26 billion investment deal in the Philippines, private companies in the said country have also promised $120 million in investment to the country.
According to President Marcos, the said amount that Saudi companies will invest in the country will open 15,000 jobs in the Philippines, particularly in the construction industry.
“The amount of investment deal by the Saudi government and the private corporations to the Philippines clearly show kung gaano katiwala ang Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at mga negosyante dito sa Pilipinas para maglaan ng malaking halaga,” according to House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
Speaker Romualdez is part of the delegation of government officials accompanying President Marcos for the ASEAN-GCC Summit in Saudi Arabia.
“Ang tiwala kasi ng kahariang ito sa Pilipinas ay nagsimula pa noong dekada 70 nang mag-boom ang pagpapadala natin ng mga OFWs na ang tawag pa sa kanila noon ay overseas contract workers,” the Speaker said.
“Ayon pa nga sa pangulo our economy is sound and stronger than ever…at itong investments na ito will further boost our economy,” he said.
Speaker Romualdez added that tax incentives will be given to Saudi investors who will invest in the country.
“The house will work closely with the executive department by passing laws to make sure na hindi mahihirapan ang anumang investors mamuhunan sa bansa”, added the lawmaker from Leyte.
