SAN JOSE CITY — The two sons of Mayor Mario “Kokoy” Salvador have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and have been discharged from the hospital, the mayor posted on his Facebook account.

Salvador however said his two children will be placed under home quarantine upon the advice of the doctors.

“Malaking pasasalamat po namin na sila ay nakaligtas na sa panganib na dulot ng COVID-19,” the mayor said.

Earlier, the city chief executive reported with a heavy heart that his son Rocky was tagged as Patient 189 in the city’s list of new active COVID-19 cases. Also afflicted with the virus was his eldest son Ali, who was immediately admitted after being diagnosed with early stage of pneumonia.

Maraming salamat din kay Dr. Paul Andrew Ingco ng St. Luke’s,” the mayor said in his Facebook page.

Salvador also gave thanks to all those who prayed and extended words of encouragement to them. “Nakadagdag din po ‘yun ng lakas ng loob,” he said.
