Salo: Vote for bgy execs who understand challenges
HOUSE committee on overseas workers affairs chairman and KABAYAN Rep. Ron Salo on Sunday reminded families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to vote for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials who understand their situation and promote their welfare.
“I remind families of OFWs to select and vote for Barangay officials who not only understand but also empathize with their unique challenges,” Salo remarked.
“Families with absent parents or family members working abroad face distinctive hurdles, and it is imperative that our elected leaders comprehend and address these issues effectively.
The children of OFWs need guidance, and it is essential that the barangay officials, as community leaders, are able to extend this support.
By choosing leaders who prioritize the welfare of these families and uphold the values of integrity, vision and dedication, we pave the way for a better and more progressive society,” Salo stated.
Salo also urged the citizenry to exercise their right to vote during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on October 30.
“Let us all strive to have fair, honest and safe conduct of the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.
These principles are the bedrock of a thriving democracy, ensuring that the voice of the people is accurately represented, and the will of the majority is respected,” Salo stated.
The lawmaker also urged the voters to vote wisely.
“This electoral process empowers us, the people, to shape the trajectory of our communities and our country.
Let us think not only of the present but of our future. In this exercise of our rights, I urge every Filipino to actively participate and vote wisely,” Salo concluded.
