Report bullying — DepEd
THE Department of Education advised reporting incidents of bullying to the Learners Rights and Protection Office (LRPO) for proper assistance.
“Isang tawag lang, may tutulong sa’yo . Kung ikaw ay biktima at saksi ng pambu- bully sa paaralan, huwag manahimik. Tumawag sa DepEd upang i-report ang insidente at makakuha ng tulong” the DepEd said in a Facebook post.
In school year 2024- 2025 a total of 167 bullying cases were reported to the LRPO.
Victims or witnesses may report incidents through the Learners Telesafe Hotline at (02) 8632-1372, #33733 (#DEPED) for Smart/PLDT users, or 0945-175-9777 for Globe subscribers. Concerns can also be emailed to [email protected].
Meanwhile, the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) expressed alarm over recent incidents in Metro Manila schools.
“These incidents are deeply alarming and heartbreaking, said TDC national chairperson Benjo Basas.
The group noted that while several policies are already in place, such as the DepEd Child Protection Policy, the Anti-Child Abuse Law, the Anti-Bullying Law, and the more recent Cybercrime Prevention Act, these recent cases show us that enforcement and collective responsibility are key to preventing bullying.
Basas emphasized that while schools and teachers play a crucial role in shaping student behavior, discipline and values must begin at home.
He added that the solution requires a collective approach involving families, communities, schools, the media, and government institutions.
The TDC also urged the DepEd and concerned agencies to expedite the implementation of Republic Act No. 12080, or the Basic Education Mental Health and Well-Being Promotion Act.
