Rehab drug user butchers health worker mom
GUMACA, QUEZON – A 34-year-old man who just came out of a drug rehabilitation center on Wednesday stabbed dead his own mother in Bgy. Maunlad, this town.
Town police commander Major Lowell Atienza identified the suspect as Jowell Panaglima and the victim, Panaglima’s 60-year-old mother, Evelyn, both residents of the village.
The victim was a barangay health worker.
Panaglima told Atienza that he got irritated of her mother’s repeated plea for him to reconcile with his live in partner after he got out of the drug rehabilitation center.
“Nakulitan hanggang sa nagalit daw ang suspect sa kanyang ina. Hanggang sa kumuha ng kutsilyo at pinagsasaksak sa dibdib ang ina na nagtamo ng anim na tama,” said Atienza.
He said the suspect is no longer interested to reconcile with the woman for unknown reason.
The mother was rushed by her neighbors to San Diego Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
Atienza described the suspect as a drug user in the community and had just finished spending several months in a rehabilitation center.
Parricide charges are being readied for filing in court against Panaglima, who is now detained at the Gumaca custodial facility.
