Quezon police seize P.5M shabu
LUCENA CITY — Operatives on Wednesday seized some half a million pesos worth of shabu and arrested a “high-value” individual in an anti-narcotics operation in Bgy. Mangilag Sur, Candelaria, Quezon.
Quezon police director Col. Ruben Lacuesta said Rowell Jimenez, 42, did not resist when arrested by operatives of the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of the Candelaria Municipal Police Station under Lt. Col. Alexis Oliver Nava who were armed with a search warrant when they barged into the suspect’s house.
During the search operation witnessed by barangay officials, Lacuesta said lawmen found 12 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 82.1 grams with standard drug price value of PP558,280, and a plastic sachet containing 1.2 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P144.00.
Jimenez was charged with violation of Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Lacuesta said the suspect has been under tight watch by operatives following reports of his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Shortly after his assumption to the post, Lacuesta immediately ordered the intensification of the anti-drug campaign in the entire province.
