More ‘super cops’ deployed in Ecija to combat crimes
CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Ferdinand D. Germino has ordered the immediate deployment of “super cops” or Tactical Motorcycle Riding Units (TMRU) in strategic areas of the province as part of the command’s security measures and anti-criminality efforts in preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm polls.
Germino said the deployment of more motorcycle cops in key urban and rural areas is aimed at increasing police visibility, avert possible crime scenarios, and enhance response time to untoward incidents for heightened security across the province.
He described these “super cops” as dressed in full-battle gear, carrying long and short firearms and protected by bullet-proof vests.
“Itong mga TMRU natin ay idedeploy natin 24-7 round the clock, kahit saang eskenita pwede silang pumasok kahit sa trapik kaya malaking tulong ito sa police visibility at sa anti-criminality,” Germino said.
He added the intensified anti-criminality operations and security measures being undertaken were meant to achieve a “zero casualty” and “zero election-related incidents” in the province ahead of the upcoming midterm polls in 2025.
At least 18 TMRUs are deployed at NEPPO, aside from those assigned in the 27 municipal and five city police stations across the province.
Germino said he is also eyeing to deploy an additional 100 police personnel to augment the existing police force to beef-up security during the approaching Christmas season this December.
