Prosper leads Terrafirma to first win

TERRAFIRMA is winless no more.

And veteran import Lester Prosper had a lot to do with it.

Prosper finished with a career-high 50 points and 19 rebounds as Terrafirma ended a 25-game losing skid with a thrilling 124-114 overtime victory over NLEX in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Prosper, a naruralized Indonesian, had seven points in the extra period alone.

Juami Tiongson added 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, and Eric Camson contributed 15 points ansd five rebounds for the Dyip, who claimed a win for the first time in more than nine months,

The Dyip, who led by as many as 17 points, outscored the Road Warriors, 14-4, in the extra period to escape with the win.

It was the first win for the Johnedel Cardel-mentored Dyp, whose last victory came last February 12 when they defeated Blackwater Bossing, 109-103, in the Governors’ Cup.

“I think we got lucky in this game. Struggling din ang NLEX so I told the boys we have to take advantage of that,” said Cardel in an interview posted at the official PBA website.

“I told Lester before this game ‘lyou gotta get 50 points’ and he did that At least nasira namin ang sumpa after 25 games. We can now start again and we hope to carry this to our last two games (in the elims),” added Cardel

Fellow import Earl Clark also had a good offensive night for NLEX, finishing with 45 points and 18 rebounds in a losing cause.

Don Trollano had a career-high 26 points and Brandon Rosser had 22 points for NLEX, which fell to 3-7 overall
