Profiteers, hoarders

WITHOUT doubt, the presence of profiteers, hoarders and other erring traders remains a major headache of the authorities and the consuming public .

Many find it hard to understand why these unscrupulous Filipinos refuse to stop their nefarious activities despite government efforts to pin them down.

And to think that these people know fully well that Filipinos are still recovering from the crippling two-year coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

In fact, many displaced workers, including professionals, are still jobless due to the inability of COVID-19-affected establishments to resume operations.

“Hindi sa ayaw na nilang mag-negosyo kundi kulang sila ng financial resources,” lamented a young entrepreneur, who is a former overseas Filipino worker.

Perhaps, concerned government authorities should hit hard at these profiteers and hoarders.

However, it is certainly heartening to know that President Marcos’ administration is determined to uplift the living conditions of the people.

Under President Marcos, concerned state authorities are seen to do something more effective to address the problems of hoarding and profiteering.
