CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 Director Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. announced that the entire Central Luzon (CL) police force is “all set” to implement the public safety campaign for the summer holiday season dubbed “Ligtas SumVac (Summer Vacation) 2023.”

“I gave directives to all provincial and city directors to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this Lenten season and summer vacation. As a matter of fact, we will be deploying more than 1,000 personnel in the region starting April 1,” Hidalgo said.

He added that police visibility will be intensified through increased foot and mobile patrols and Police Assistance Desks/Centers (PADs/Cs).

“Also, road safety marshals are being deployed in convergence points, particularly in bus terminals, airports, seaports, and recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares, and crime-prone areas to ensure maximum police presence,” the CL top cop added.

He also instructed all commanders to coordinate with local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and other government entities and volunteer groups in establishing PADs/Cs and in deploying road safety marshalls for collaborative delivery of public safety services and assistance.

Hidlago warned that criminal elements might take advantage of people converging in places such as beaches and other tourist destinations for relaxation and recreation.

“I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community by providing authorities relevant and timely information through PRO3 hotline 0998-5985330/0917-5562597 and social media (Facebook: PioThreeProOlivas /PIORegionThree),” he said.

PRO3’s “SumVac 2023” will remain in effect from April 1 until May 31.
