PNPTHE Philippine National Police (PNP) has joined the national government in pushing the Philippines to become a retirement haven amid a Gallup poll which ranked the country as the 3rd safest nation in Southeast Asia.

The PNP acknowledged the recent report of Gallup in its 2023 Global Law and Order Report.

The report highlighted that the Philippines is the third safest country in Southeast Asia with an index score of 86.

The score placed the nation just behind Vietnam (92) and Indonesia (90).

Furthermore, the Philippines has achieved an overall global ranking of 33rd. This recognition underscores the effective efforts of the PNP in ensuring the security and well-being of its citizens.

“We are honored and humbled by the trust in us by the Filipino people. The PNP remains steadfast in our commitment to serve and protect.

This report serves as a guiding beacon for us to continue our mission of ensuring the well-being of our communities,” said PNP chief Ge. Benjamin Acorda.

The report signifies that the PNP has garnered overwhelming confidence in the realm of security and safety, said PNP spokesperson, Colonel Jean S. Fajardo.

She said this acknowledgment reinforces the PNP’s serbisyong nagkakaisa (united service) to uphold and enhance its role in maintaining law and order.

In response to these commendable results, the PNP pledged to continue its dedication to serving and protecting the Filipino people and visiting tourists.

Acorda expressed his elation over the report. “This is really something,” said the top cop.

The Gallup pollsters said they interviewed more than 146,000 people, aged 15 and above from over 140 countries and asked them the following questions: Do you have confidence in your local police force?

Do you feel safe when walking alone at night? Have you been a victim of theft within the past few months? Have you been assaulted or mugged?

It said that 71 percent of those surveyed worldwide reported feeling safe walking alone at night where they live, while 72 percent expressed confidence in their local police.

Acorda said the high rating of the country when it comes to peace and order is a testament to the effectiveness of the peace and order programs of the PNP.

“We’re getting positive interaction from the community,” the PNP chief said, and he reiterated his call on his men to remain united and go all-out against scalawags in uniform.

The Philippines has been projected as one of the best countries to retire in Asia owing to its economic prosperity and for being one of the easiest countries to retire to.

Leading magazines in the United States mentioned numerous reasons as to why the Philippines is perfect for those who wish to live a quiet and happy life.

The country’s beautiful tropical environment, it being riddled with world-class beaches, diving spots and other tourist destinations makes every foreigner feel like they are constantly on vacation.
