PH visa applicants warned vs scammers
THE Philippine Embassy in Washington DC warned Philippine visa applicants against unscrupulous individuals offering their services in exchange for money.
In a public advisory, the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC said it has received a report of unscrupulous individuals and entities who misrepresent themselves as the visa processing unit of the Embassy in order to obtain money from the unsuspecting applicant in exchange for visa facilitation.
“Visa applicants in the United States are requested to be cautious and vigilant and deal only with officials of the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Consulates General in the US of America, the advisory said.
Applicants were told to check the official websites and email addresses of the Philippine Embassy and Philippine Consulates General in the different parts of the US.
The advisory also encouraged visa applicants to report suspicious emails or those offering assistance to visa applications to the Embassy or the Consulates General.
