PH, US, Japan magsasanib-pwersa sa humanitarian, disaster response exercise

MAGSASAGAWA ng humanitarian at disaster response exercise ang Pilipinas, Amerika at Japan.

Sa Joint Vision Statement, sinabi ng tatlong bansa na maaring isama ang aktibidad sa trilateral o multilateral activities.

Nangako ang tatlong bansa na palalakasin ang koordinasyon at itataguyod ang maritime domain awareness.

“We emphasize our commitment to advancing multilateral maritime domain awareness cooperation through such venues as the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA). We intend to identify and implement opportunities for combined training with Southeast Asian regional partners,” saad ng joint statement.

“We are also launching a Japan-Philippines-U.S. humanitarian assistance and disaster response exercise, which could be integrated into trilateral or multilateral activities, including Balikatan 2025, to ensure our countries are ready and able to work together seamlessly and expeditiously in response to any crisis or contingency.”

Inanunsyo rin ng tatlong bansa ang pagtatatag ng trilateral maritime dialogue para mapalakas ang collective responses upang maitaguyod ang maritime cooperation na para matugunan ang illegal, unreported, at unregulated fishing.

Nangako rin ang Amerika at Japan na patuloy na susuportahan ang Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) capacity building kasama na ang 12 Coast Guard vessels at dagdah na lima pang barko para sa Pilipinas.

Matapos ang kauna-unahang joint exercise between noong 2023, umaasa ang US Coast Guard na makakasama na sa susunod na pagpapatrolya sa Indo Pacific region ang Pilipinas at Japan ngayong taon.

“Within the next year, our coast guards also plan to conduct an at-sea trilateral exercise and other maritime activities in the Indo-Pacific to improve interoperability and advance maritime security and safety,” saad ng statement.
