CHINESE consumers will now have a wider variety of Philippine-products to choose from as more of them were made available at the launch of the Philippine National Pavilion on JD.com, one of the major Chinese E-commerce websites.

The leading business-to-consumer shopping platform features food and beverage products familiar to the Filipino palette through the pavilion such as coconut water, dried fruit delicacies, and biscuits.

The establishment of the national pavilion is set to improve trade between countries and deliver well-loved Filipino snacks to many Chinese households.

The market’s potential can further expand soon with another online national pavilion at Womai.com, an online grocery platform in China, and an offline wholesale pavilion at Bairong World Trade Center in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

Even with the Covid-19 pandemic, trade and investment between China and the Philippines are still expanding rapidly.

It is beyond many people’s expectation that our bilateral trade increased by 53% and China’s non-financial direct investment in the Philippines increased by 230% in the first half of this year, contributing significantly to the economic recovery of this country, Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian said.

He said : “Being the largest trading partner for years, China has also become the second largest importer of the Philippine agricultural products, and I do believe that China will buy more agricultural products from the Philippines and become its number one importer in the foreseeable future as expected by many.”
