Petroleum products inside oil tanker stolen in Batangas

A GENERAL manager of a gasoline station appeared at the police station and reported that a Izusu oil tanker filled with petroleum products was stolen from the establishment’s parking lot Friday afternoon in Bgy. Bolbok, Batangas City.

Batangas City Police Station investigators PSMS Reyes, P/SSg Sulit, and P/Cpl Alzate said one Lito Teves, head of the Maxifuel Gasoline Station Incorporated located along Diversion Road reported the incident at around 5 p.m. on January 2.

The Isuzu tanker bearing plate No. RKT 890 loaded with 20,000 liters of assorted petroleum products with an estimated amount of P900,000 owned by MaxiFuel Gasoline Station was discovered missing around 10 a.m. on January 1.

Francis Epis y Duarte, a designated driver parked the tanker truck on December 31, around 1 p.m.

The missing tanker was tracked through the company’s GPS and a follow-up operation was immediately conducted by Batangas City police that resulted in the recovery of the vehicle along the national highway in Bgy. Mahabang Parang, Batangas City.

Police said the truck’s tank was empty when they saw it parked on the said street.
