Girl, 6, dies in dynamite blast
A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl who was playing outside their home suffered a gruesome death when a dynamite exploded in Agoo, La Union.
Police identified the victim as Lorie Aspillaga, a resident of the town.
Victor, the child’s father, told police that he was inside their house when he heard a loud blast.
He ran outside to check on his daughter, who was then playing, when he was shocked to see her bloodied and dead.
“Hindi ko alam ang nangyari. Naglalaro lang siya sa labas ng bahay nang biglang may sumabog,” the father said in vernacular.
“Posible na nakaimbak lang ‘yung bagay na sumabog. Ito ay sinindhan o ginalaw kaya sumabog,” May. Freddie Lorenzo, deputy chief of the Agoo Police Station, told a television interview.
Authorities are investigating if the victim or someone toyed with the dynamite that caused the blast.
