PBF keeps boxers happy during holidays

THE Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) continues to bring joy and happiness to active and retired Filipino boxers through its annual Christmas gift-giving program at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque.
PBF founding president Lope “Jun” Sarreal said the annual project is aimed at bringing joy and happines to active and retired boxers who have tirelessly spent their times to make the country proud in both local and international stage, as well as trainers and other personalities in the sport.
Sarreal, a well-known international manager-matchmaker, said PBF president Danlte Almario, Games and Amusement Boards (GAB) Chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera and the Elorde family — Bebot, Marty and Johnny and Cucuy — have all contributed to ensure the success of the Christmas celebration.
He said the Elorde family is regularly doing the gift-giving program as their way of sharing the blessings ever since the late boxing legend Gabriel “Flash” Elorde and his widow Laura passed way.
Aside from those present during the celebration, several other boxing gyms all over Metro Manila were given sacks of rice as part of the annual celebration.
Almario said the annual gift-giving program of the PBF will continue every holiday season with the help of the GAB, the Elorde family and other well-meaning friends in the boxing community.
