PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday led the inspection of a housing project in San Fernando, Pampanga under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program.

Along with Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) President and CEO Federico Laxa and other top government officials, the President personally checked the progress of Crystal Peak Estates, a housing development being built by SHFC.

Located in Barangay Del Carmen, Crystal Peak Estates is a 9.8-hectare multi-story project which targets to benefit more than 10,200 families in the public and private sector, including overseas Filipino workers and personnel of the local government, the Department of Education, the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The housing development is composed of 30 12-story buildings with a mix of 25 and 28-sq. m. units.

It aims to give future residents flexible options tailored to the needs of their families.

It also features various amenities for social and physical wellness such as clubhouses, basketball courts and swimming pools. Shophouses or commercial areas will likewise be incorporated on the ground floors, providing livelihood opportunities for unit owners.

The housing czar thanked the President for his trust and outpouring support to ensure dignified lives for every Filipino family through decent yet affordable housing.

“I am very grateful to our President who not only entrusted to us the implementation of his administration’s flagship housing program but has, more importantly, believed in us and supported us since day one.

His confidence in the 4PH Program inspires us to do everything to ensure that all Filipinos will be given access to affordable homes,” Secretary Acuzar said.

SHFC President and CEO Laxa, for his part, reiterated their support to the program.

Housing projects under 4PH in nearby Minalin and Candaba were also presented to the President by local chief executives. The projects target to benefit more than 10,000 Kapampangans belonging to various sectors.

The St. Andrews Residences will be built in a 5.7-hectare land in Brgy. Mandasig, Candaba, Pampanga. It shall be composed of 18 mid-rise buildings with around 5,000 units.

Meanwhile, the Minalin Housing Project will be situated in a 7-hectare land in Barangay Sta. Maria, Minalin, Pampanga. Around 24 low and mid-rise buildings will be constructed with housing units totalling 5,016.

The three projects will significantly reduce the huge housing need of Pampanga. The province needs 91,000 housing units.

Secretary Acuzar congratulated and thanked the LGUs and other stakeholders for their support to the flagship housing program.

“We at DHSUD thank SHFC, the LGUs, and all our partners for heeding the call to address the housing backlog. We call on our other partners…other LGUs to do the same,” said the housing chief.

“This is another concrete proof that the government is serious about this program. It is also a testament that with the synergy between the national and local government and the private sector, we can do more,” he added.
