The official said that the operation in Barangay San Matias in Sto. Tomas municipality late Monday afternoon also resulted in the arrest of the female secretary of raided motorcycle parts shop.

Still being hunted are the registered owners of the raided shop, Lee said.

According to the PNP-CIDG director, members of the CIDG Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crime Unit launched the sting following a complaint from a concerned citizen.

During the entrapment operation, he said that the secretary was caught in the act of selling counterfeit Koso pulley balls and Koso voltmeters in total violation of Republic Act (RA) 8293 or the law on intellectual property rights.

The official said the couple owners escaped arrest during the sting.

Recovered during the operation were 4,174 pieces of Koso rollers 13 grams; 473 pieces of Koso rollers 8 grams; and 311 pieces of Koso voltmeter, all with an estimated worth of P729,575.

The arrested woman was taken to the CIDG-AFFCU office in Camp Crame for booking and further investigation.

Lee said he had ordered his men to look for the couple who escaped arrest, adding that they are included in the complaint sheet.

He also reminded the public to continue reporting to their office the presence of shops selling counterfeit goods and other items in the country, which could be dangerous when used.
