A P300,000 reward has been offered by Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla for any information that would lead to the capture of the suspected “killer” of a graduating student of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), police said on Thursday.

Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Colonel Christopher F. Olazo expressed optimism that the huge bounty will help them get the killer of Queen Leanne Daguinsin, a 24-year-old DLSU-D computer science student.

He said that any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect may be forwarded thru telephone numbers 0998-598-5587 and 0998-967-3350. Olazo assured that the identity of the informant will be kept in utmost secrecy.

The Cavite PPO, on orders of Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A Director Brigadier Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has launched a thorough investigation into the case of Daguinsin whose body was found Tuesday inside her room at a dormitory in Barangay Sta. Fe in Dasmariñas City.

The killing stunned the entire DLSU-Dasmariñas community.

A caretaker of the dormitory found the victim already without lower garments with blood scattered all over her body after her classmates started looking for her.

Olazo said that the Dasmariñas City Police Station, headed by Lieutenant Col. Juan P. Oruga Jr., responded to the crime scene after receiving a call from Bgy. Sta. Fe chairman Emmanuel Noora.

A check of the CCTV recordings in the area showed that at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, the suspect scaled the rooftop of the nearby dormitory and went to the 2nd floor of the adjacent dormitory where the victim’s room is located.

CCTV footage showed the suspect casually leaving the building. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, black short pants, a black cap, and a pair of white slippers. The suspect was seen carrying some belongings of the victim.

According to Olazo, an autopsy showed that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds on the neck and body. The Cavite Provincial Forensic Laboratory is also investigating if the victim had been sexually abused.

Nartatez has ordered Olazo and Oruga to use all their available resources and personnel to effect the arrest of the suspect.
