TNT Tropang Giga coasted to an easy 110-91 victory over an import-less Rain or Shine in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Cameron Oliver finished with 21 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes and Calvin Oftana and RR Pogoy added 15 points apiece for the Tropang Giga, who clinched their second straight win after dropping their opening assignment.

Without Rain or Shine counterpart Steve Taylor Jr., Oliver had an easy time as he powered TNT to an explosive 41-point first quarter that practically settled the outcome of the match.

Taylor Jr. was placed in the league’s health and safety protocols and the Elasto Painters had a difficult time matching with the Oliver-led Tropang Giga.

“We had a good first quarter but had a bad second quarter. We lost the second quarter by 16 points with our rivals without an import. And that does not speak well of us. It’s a perfect reflection of where we are right now as a team,” said TNT coach Chot Reyes in an interview.

“We need to play a full 48 minutes and we’re not there yet. It’s good Jayson (Castro) was there and he injected life for us in the third quarter,” Reyes added.

Rey Nambatac topscored with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting for Rain or Shine, which dropped to 2-3 overall.

Andrei Caracut added 12 points and Leonard Santillan and Anton Asistio contributed 11 points each for the E-Painters.

Santillan also had 10 rebounds.
