FOUR senior Philippine National Police officials this week assumed their new positions of major responsibility on orders of General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.

Major Gen. Ronald O. Lee took over as the new PNP Director for Operations vice Maj. Gen. Leo M. Francisco who was transferred as the PNP Director for Investigation and Detective Management.

On the other hand, Brigadier Gen. Sidney S. Villaflor replaced Lee as PNP Director for Human Resource and Doctrine Development.

Villaflor, the erstwhile director of the PNP Aviation Security Group was replaced as Police Regional Office 6 director in Western Visayas by Brig. Gen. Jack L. Wanky.

Major Generals Lee and Francisco and Villaflor are all members of Philippine Military Academy ‘Tanglaw-Diwa’ Class of 1992. Villaflor will get his 2nd-star with as PNP-DHRDD director.

Brig. Gen. Wanky belongs to PNP Academy ‘Tagapagpatupad’ Class of 1992.

Journal Group sources said there will be a number of key reassignments at the PNP as Gen. Acorda fills-up some still unfilled positions in the police force.

They include the directors of the Area Police Command-Eastern Mindanao and APC-Northern Luzon which were left vacant following the retirement of APC-EM commander, Lieutenant Gen. Filmore B. Escobal on November 5 last year and the designation of erstwhile APC-NL commander, Lt. Gen. Jon A. Arnaldo as Officer-in-Charge, The PNP Chief Directorial Staff two weeks ago.

Escobal and Arnaldo are both classmates of Gen. Acorda from PMA ‘Sambisig’ Class of 1991
