Nakumpiskang produkto ng BOC umaabot na sa P31.5B
UMABOT na sa P31.5 bilyon ang nakukumpiskang smuggled na produkto ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ngayong taon.
Ayon kay BOC Director Verne Enciso ito ang pinakamalaking nakumpiska ng BOC at inaasahan na madaragdagan pa ito dahil tatlong buwan pa bago atapos ang taon.
“Ang bureau, under the leadership of Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, has already got the highest seizure, in a terms of smuggling, nag-resulta na po ito sa 31.5 billion (pesos worth) na various commodities, ito po iyong highest ever record po ng Bureau of Customs, considering na hindi pa po tapos ang taon,” sabi ni BOC Director Verne Enciso.
Ayon kay Enciso kasama sa mga nakumpiska ang P3.3 bilyong halaga ng produktong agrikultural.
Patuloy din umano ang pagsasagawa ng inspeksyon ng BOC sa mga warehouse kung saan posibleng pinaghihinalaang itinatago ang mga smuggled na produkto.
“The first implemented letters of authority that was conducted in seven warehouses in the vicinity or in the area of Bulacan, four warehouses were issued warrant of seizure and detention resulting in the seizure of 236,571 sacks of rice which originated from Vietnam, Thailand and Pakistan. Three warehouses were released to the claimants with the total of 135,365 rice originating from Vietnam and Thailand,” sabi ni Enciso.
Natuklasan ng BOC ang 36,000 sako ng bigas sa warehouse sa Tondo, Manila at 20,000 sako naman sa Las Piñas at Bacoor. Ang mga may-ari umano ay binigyan ng 15 araw para magbigay ng mga katibayan na lehitimo ang pagpasok ng mga bigas sa bansa at tama ang ibinayad na buwis sa mga ito. Pinakamarami umano ang mga nakumpiskang produkto dahil sa paglabag sa intellectual property rights at sumunod ang produktong agrikultural.
