MMDA takes down billboard of project partner for violating size rule
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) swiftly removed on Monday a billboard of its project partner along a footbridge in Quezon City since it exceeded the size mandated by the agency.
Acting chairman Carlo Dimayuga III ordered MMDA personnel to put down the billboard of City Advertising Ventures Corporation along Commonwealth Avenue which was flagged by commuters and news anchor Noli De Castro.
“The said billboard exceeded the appropriate size of the advertisement that should be placed under the Adopt-a-Footbridge Project, in which the said advertising corporation was a partner,” the MMDA said in a Facebook post.
The agency was referring to its public-private partnership initiative that involves the private sector in the rehabilitation and beautification of existing footbridges in the metropolis.
Under the program, private partners will finance the repair, rehabilitation and improvement of footbridges in Metro Manila for the benefit of pedestrians using the said footbridge.
The MMDA meanwhile thanked De Castro for calling out the attention of its personnel about the said violation.
“Our agency is open and ready to listen to ideas and suggestions that will help in the development of Metro Manila,” it added. By ANCHIT MASANGCAY
