MARIANE Osabel is ecstatic when she performed in GMA-7’s New Year Countdown on New Year’s Eve. “Dati kasi, nanonood lang ako ng countdown show and now, kasama na ako sa mga nag-perform,” she says. “I feel so happy and honored about it.”

Mariane was hailed as the grand champion of “The Clash Season 4 2021” after rising above the intense battles with her equally talented rivals. She’s dubbed as the Ultimate Siren of Iligan.

“When I won, the feeling is still so surreal,” she says. “Totoo ba ‘to? I just love this new chapter of my life. Thank you, Panginoon! Thank you for listening. Thank you for anointing me.”

The youngest of five kids, Mariane is turning 24 on January 28. Her childhood was spent in Saudi Arabia where her parents were working then. “Bale doon po ako nagtapos ng grade school. Then umuwi kami sa Iligan City where I finished high school. In college, I took up environmental technology at the Mindanao State University. My winning is a real blessing kasi I have an older brother who needs kidney transplant and this will be a big help for our family.”

She admits having joined other singing contests before.

“Marami na akong nasalihang contests at hindi ako nanalo. Ganun talaga, dapat huwag ka panghihinaan ng loob at malakas ang fighting spirit mo. Try ka lang nang try hanggang makamit mo ang iyong tagumpay.’’

Her winning song during The Final Clash was Harish Joya’s “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita,” besting the Kulot Crooner of Pampanga Vilmark Viray who performed Christian Paul Rosa’s “Umuwi Ka Na” – both original compositions are from The Clash songwriting challenge.

As grand champion, Mariane will receive prizes worth over P4 million, which includes P1 million in cash, a house and lot, and an exclusive management contract with GMA-7.
