FOLLOWING the rollout of COVID-19 bivalent vaccine to healthcare workers last month, the Manila City Government started administering bivalent COVID-19 shots to senior citizens yesterday.

Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said the Pfizer COVID-19 bivalent vaccine is now available to vulnerable sectors or A2 (senior citizens) priority groups at 44 health centers in Manila.

The mayor said bivalent vaccines would be administered to senior citizens who have received their second booster at least four to six months ago.

The Department of Health (DOH) earlier said that bivalent vaccine provides better protection against the original COVID strain and the Omicron variant and it will be considered as the third booster dose for the eligible population.

Qualified recipients who wanted to receive bivalent vaccine are required to bring their valid ID card, updated vaccination card and medical clearance (for immunocompromised A1 and A2 priority groups).
