Man shot dead in Ecija
TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – A 55-year-old man was peppered with bullets by an unidentified suspect who fled on foot after the gun attack on Sunday night here.
Town police head Lt. Col. Ranny Casilla said the victim, of Purok 6, Barangay Burnay, sustained several gunshot wounds and died after undergoing emergency treatment at the Talavera General Hospital.
Investigation showed the victim was walking towards his house when the gunman approached him and shot him multiple times before fleeing on foot towards Purok 2 at 10:30 p.m.
Probers are still checking the area’s CCTV (closed-circuit television) camera for possible clues about the shooting.
