Man nabbed for firing gun after spat with ex-gf

A 33-YEAR-OLD man who reportedly figured in a fight with his former girlfriend who is allegedly working as a dancer in a lounge bar, was arrested by police after he reportedly fired his gun indiscriminately inside the establishment in Caloocan City.

The incident, which happened although under the jurisdiction of the Caloocan City police, was relayed to Valenzuela City Acting Chief of Police P/Col. Salvador Destura, Jr., after the suspect was seen by witnesses fleeing on board a red Peugeot Sedan towards McArthur Highway heading towards Valenzuela City.

Col. Destura, together with elements of the Valenzuela police, Special Reaction Unit (SRU) and Sub-Station 6 immediately conducted a dragnet operation until they spotted the suspect’s car at the corner of McArhur Highway and T. Santiago St. Brgy, Malanday that resulted in his arrest.

Investigation showed that at around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, the suspect, while under the influence of liquor, drew his firearm and fired indiscriminately upwards inside the lounge bar in Caloocan City after he allegedly figured in a heated altercation with his former girlfriend.

The suspect managed to flee before the arrival of responding cops but witnesses were able to jot down the plate number of his car prompting authorities to immediately alarmed its license plate.

Authorities seized from the suspect a .45 caliber Armscor pistol with one live ammunition, a magazine assembly with 10 live bullets and an empty magazine.

Multiple charges for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), RA 10586 (Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013), Alarm and Scandal ang Grave Threat will be filed against the suspect before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
