Magnitude 5.1 quake hits Ilocos Norte
A MAGNITUDE 5.1 quake hit Ilocos Norte on Friday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs’ initial bulletin showed that the tectonic quake struck 39 kms. northwest of the municipality of Burgos at 9:23 p.m. It was 12 kms. deep.
Aftershocks are likely, but the damage is not expected from the magnitude 5.1 quake, Phivolcs said. Philippine News Agency
