THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has preventively suspended for 90 days the driver’s license of an Angkas rider who was accused of trying to molest his passenger in Pasig City last month.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the Angkas rider was already issued with a Show Cause Order (SCO) and was summoned to the LTO-National Capital Region as part of the conduct of the investigation.

“This action is part of the investigation that we conducted as soon as we monitored this case in the social media,” said Mendoza.

The SCO signed by LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque Verzosa III, said the investigation started when the female victim filed a complaint before the Raffy Tulfo In Action program wherein she said she was almost molested by the Angkas rider in Barangay Manggahan on Nov. 12.

When the victim was able to fend off the attempt, the Angkas rider allegedly took her cellular phone and wallet.

During the conduct of the probe, Mendoza said the Angkas rider was identified to be a driver’s license holder with a registered address in Taytay, Rizal.

“He is now under investigation for at least three cases which could lead to the revocation of his license if found guilty,” said Mendoza.

Among the cases are reckless driving and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

Mendoza said the office of Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista was already informed of the LTO action on the case.
