Lawyer loses guns, valuables to ‘bukas kotse’ gang
BATANGAS – A “basag kotse” gang victimized a lawyer after breaking the vehicle’s glass window while parked in front of a hardware store parking lot in Barangay San Roque, Sto. Tomas City, Batangas the other day.
Lipa City Police investigators PCMS Richard C. Rico, PMSg Sonny Boy Ligsay, and Cpl. Jimuel Valencia identified the victim as Atty. Maximo Reyes, 69, a retired government employee, of Bgy. Luta Sur, Malvar, Batangas.
Probers said the lawyer parked his black Toyota at the hardware store parking lot and went inside.
Moments later, when he returned, he noticed the right rear passenger window had been broken.
Immediately, the victim searched for his firearm and saw that his clutch bag was not there.
The victim quickly reported the incident to the duty security guard identified as Edmar Alverio, and to the store manager Virgilio Valenzuela.
Investigators said the suspect carted away one Para Ordnance Caliber .40 pistol, two magazines, an original copy of License to Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF), a permit to carry and firearm license, and one black Lacoste clutch bag.
