Lalamove rider, 5 nabbed in Makati-Taguig drug busts

AUTHORITIES seized more than P500,000 worth of shabu from 5 drug personalities, including a Lalamove driver, in separate anti-drug operations Tuesday night and Wednesday before dawn in Makati and Taguig Cities.

Operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit of Southern Police District (DDEU-SPD) dismantled a suspected drug den along Kalaw St. Bgy. Rizal, Makati City after they arrested Christopher Espana, 41; Cesar Veluz; Rosalina Batacan, 54; and Jeffrey Bagion, 19, when they conspired in selling shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 12:53 a.m. Wednesday.

SPD Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said elements of DDEU recovered from the suspects more or less 80 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P544,000.00 and the buy-bust (marked) money.

Earlier at around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, elements of Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested Lalamove driver Harry Nawali, 26, in a buy-bust operation along Capistrano Ext. Bgy. Hagonoy, Taguig City.

Taguig Police acting Chief P/Col. Robert Baesa said during the body search on the suspect, Nawali yielded more or less 20 grams of shabu worth P136,000 and the P500 marked money.

“I commend the efforts of our operatives for another successful anti-illegal drugs operation. To our citizens in Southern Metro, let us help one another and support our police in eradicating illegal drugs and other forms of crimes to attain a peaceful and safe community.” Macaraeg said.
