Laguna LGU warns of fake COVID vax card
THE local government of Cabuyao in Laguna yesterday warned of proliferation of fake COVID-19 vaccination cards in the city.
The City Information Office said they received a report that some residents were using fake vaccination cards and fake vaccine certificates to avoid undergoing testing, to be absent from work, or to avail of benefits associated with the card.
According to the CIA, each vaccination card has a corresponding Quick Response (QR) Code.
It said whoever was caught manufacturing bogus vaccination cards will face charges for falsification of documents under the Revised Penal Code.
The office urged residents not to patronize the illegal use of vaccination cards.
Laguna was placed under the strictest quarantine due to the increasing number of people infected with COVID-19 and its variants.
