EIGHT policemen from the Lambayong Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Sultan Kudarat are facing charges filed by the families of three slain teenagers on Monday.

Samanoden Mustapha Ali, 19, Horton Ansa Jr., 19, and Anshad Ansa, 20, were allegedly victims of a “rubout” and were unarmed, according to their families.

The charges against the policemen, which included murder, planting of evidence, falsification of documents, and grave misconduct, were filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The respondent-lawmen include a Police Major, Police Senior Master Sergeant, two Police Corporal, and four others with Patrolman ranks.

The families stated that the teenagers were simply cruising on their new motorcycle when they were allegedly killed by the policemen on December 2, 2022.

However, the police claim that the youths were flagged down for inspection at a checkpoint in the town’s Purok 4, Barangay Didtaras, but they sped away, prompting the police to give chase.

The town police reported that the motorcycle crashed in Purok Masagana, and the youths “opened fire” when the lawmen approached, triggering a firefight.

The police claimed to have recovered two Colt .45-caliber pistols, one hand grenade, pieces of live ammunition, one unit of Suzuki Raider 150, and a sachet containing suspected methamphetamine (shabu) from the body of one of the victims.
