AUTHORITIES arrested two Chinese nationals and their four Filipino cohorts who kidnapped a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) Chinese worker for ransom and detained him in a condominium Friday evening in Parañaque City.

Parañaque police chief P/Col. Maximo Sebastian Jr. identified the arrested suspects as Chen Shiduan, 47, of Washington Tower, Bgy. Don Galo; Chen Lianxing, 37, of Reina Regente St. Binondo, Manila; Joseph Cardona, 52, of Batasan Hills, Quezon City; Benedicto Manicad, 48, of Purok 3 Bgy. Santor, Malolos, Bulacan; Raphael Milang, 37, of Bgy. San Antonio, Sto Tomas, Batangas; and Nida Bagtas, 49, of C-2 Capulong Road, Tondo, Manila.

In his report to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director P/MGen. Vicente Danao Jr., Sebastian said some POGO workers sought the assistance of Parañaque Sub-Station 3 and claimed that their friend was illegally detained by undetermined number of suspects at the 19th floor of Washington Tower Marina Bay in Bgy. Don Galo.

Wasting no time, elements of Sub-Station 3, in coordination with officials of Bgy. Don Galo, swooped down on the 19th floor of Washington Tower at around 9 p.m. which resulted in the rescue of the victim identified as Li Le Le, 20, POGO Customer Service and resident of Bayport West, Bgy. Tambo, Parañaque City, and the arrest of the six suspects.

Danao commended the swift response of the elements of Parañaque Sub-Station 3 while a follow-up operation was still ongoing for the arrest of other suspects.

The NCRPO chief also recognized the public’s cooperation in the speedy resolution of ongoing crimes. “We thank the public for their increasing support and confidence given to our police. Through your cooperation and accurate reports, we get our work done efficiently and more suspects are arrested,” Danao said.
