SENATOR Richard J. Gordon was deeply sorrowed by the sudden passing of August “Gus” Villanueva, editor-in-chief of the Journal Group.

“It is with deepest sorrow that we hear of the passing of Gus Villanueva, Editor-in-Chief of Peoples Journal and Peoples Tonight. He was a man of integrity and exhibited great devotion to his work. We will always be grateful for his support and his passion for excellence,” he said in a statement.

Gordon said Villanueva has been very supportive of him through the years.
